Midwest Dry Cleaning Machines
Midwest Machines was started by the father son team of Clair Hill and James Hill, Sr. in 1947 under the name of "Midwest Dry Cleaning Supply Company." In 1949, Midwest started making dry cleaning machines. Around 1953 Midwest Dry Cleaning Supply Company became Incorporated. Through the early 1950's Midwest Supply Company exclusively made dry cleaning machines. In 1955, Midwest was the second company in the United States to build washer extractors. In the late fifties, coin-op dry to dry perk machines were manufactured for a few years. Around 1963 Hill Equipment Company was founded. Hill Equipment sold boilers and dry cleaning machinary. In the early 1980's Midwest and Hill Equipment merged into one company and went exclusively under the Hill Equipment Company, INC. Hill Equipment made dry cleaning machines and all parts. Around this same time Hill Equipment started making large perk dry to dry machines. In 1993 at the National Dry Cleaning Convention Show in Chicago Hill Equipment was the only company to have a pertroleum dry to dry machine on display. In 1994, Exxon - DF 2000 Solvent used one of our machines as a test machine. Threw the mid-nineties Hill Equipment had a back order of ten months on machines. Today, Hill Equipment, is still a family operated company ran by James Hill, Sr. and James Hill, Jr.
